We only capture the minimum essential data to facilitate key account features, and when possible, support using the app without the need for an account at all.</p><p>However, despite these measures, there may be instances where you need to completely disable account sign up and sign in. As an example, this may be required to meet certain school, district, or regional regulatory measures.</p><p>Sphero provides two ways to disable accounts and the collection of user data. If you deploy your app via a software management solution, then we recommend <a href="https://support.sphero.com/en-US/sphero-edu-managed-configurations-244773" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Managed Configurations</a>. However, if you do not deploy your app or do not use compatible MDM software, then we recommend our second option, which is called &quot;No User Data&quot; mode.&#xA0;</p><h3 id="what-is-no-user-data-mode">What is &quot;No User Data&quot; Mode?</h3><p>&quot;No User Data&quot; mode allows you to &quot;lock&quot; the Sphero Edu app in an &quot;accountless&quot; state where you are signed out and cannot create accounts. When this mode is set, any users of the app will never be able to create an account and no user data will be sent to the Sphero Central servers. The app will be locked in this state until it is deleted from your device and re-installed.&#xA0;</p><h3 id="why-use-no-user-data-mode">Why Use &quot;No User Data&quot; Mode?&#xA0;</h3><p>Some schools, districts, and users may have concerns about the collection of user data. While Sphero only collects the minimum data needed to facilitate the storage of programs, lessons, and classes, it may be more than some schools are willing to allow.&#xA0;<br>Further more, some schools and districts are worried about students and children creating accounts even if they are told not to. If this is a concern, you can set the app in &quot;No User Data&quot; mode and simply lock the users of the app out of ever creating accounts.&#xA0;</p><p>While setting this mode, you can also disable the ability for users to have access to community published lessons. These lessons are created by parents or teachers and are moderated to ensure they meet our content guidelines. However, you may still wish to disable them, and can do so when setting &quot;No User Data&quot; mode.&#xA0;</p><h3 id="how-do-you-set-no-user-data-mode">How Do You Set &quot;No User Data&quot; Mode?</h3><p><strong>To enable this mode, follow the steps below:&#xA0;</strong></p><ol><li><strong>From the main onboarding sign in screens, you will find a white &quot;Sphero&quot; icon in the bottom right corner of the app.&#xA0;</strong></li><li><strong>Tap or click on this &quot;Sphero&quot; icon three times in a row quickly.</strong></li><li><strong>If done properly, you will open a popup for &quot;No User Data&quot; mode.</strong></li><li><strong>Proceed through the first popup to the second one. On the second popup, you will be able to toggle &quot;on&quot; the &quot;No User Data&quot; mode and optionally toggle &quot;off&quot; the community lesson tab.&#xA0;</strong></li><li><strong>Proceed to lock the app to your chosen settings.</strong></li></ol><p><br></p><div class="note-callout">As a reminder, you will need to fully delete and reinstall the app if you want to undo &quot;No User Data&quot; mode.</div><p><br></p>

Class codes are 6 character codes that allow your students to access their assigned lessons, program their robots, and share their work with their teacher and classmates.</p><p>Class codes can be created by any teacher and distributed to their students. Students don&#x2019;t need to have a username or password to save their work with class codes. They simply need to enter the class code to access their assignments and continue working on their programs. Unlike standard classes, student progress is saved to the class rather than a dedicated learner account.</p><p>Students who use class codes experience the Sphero Edu app in a new way. They have a simplified classroom view with tools that are focused for success in school. They can share their programs with their classmates and teacher, program their robots, and work on assigned lessons. Since class codes provide an isolated classroom experience, these students cannot publicly share their programs or access community programs.</p><div class="note-callout">Class codes work with Sphero Edu 6.0.0 and newer. Class codes are easier for young students to enter, and they only need to select their first name and last initial from the class list to access their programs and lessons.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li><strong>Your school has concerns about public content:</strong> Students who use class codes do not have access to public community content and cannot share their work outside of their virtual classroom. This means class codes are useful for schools that have specific rules about accessing social features or community generated content.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li><strong>Your class is temporary:</strong> If you run a summer camp, after-school program, or community technology class, then class codes may be a good option for you, since they are quick to set up and all student progress is saved to the classroom. The left navigation panel has five buttons for students to access their content:</p><p><strong>1) My Lessons (Lessons):</strong> This content view shows the lessons that a student has been assigned as well as their progress completing these lessons.</p><p><strong>2) My Programs (Programs):</strong> This content view shows the programs that a student is working on. At any point they can create a new program by pressing the <strong>Create Program</strong> button.</p><p><strong>3) Programs Shared By My Teacher (Resources):</strong> This content view shows programs that the teacher has shared with the student as resources. These could be templates that the students can copy and edit, or simply examples to serve as class inspiration.</p><p><strong>4) Programs Shared By My Classmates (Classmates):</strong> Students can share their programs with their classmates as a way to show their progress or compare solutions.</p><p><strong>5) Drive:</strong> Once connected to a Sphero robot, students can tap the <strong>Drive</strong> button to aim, drive, and change LED color/brightness.</p><p>The top navigation bar has four important buttons for students:</p><p><strong>6) Leave Class Button:</strong> Students use this button to log out of their class.</p><p><strong>7) 3D Model Button:</strong> Students use this button to view 3D models of their robots. This can be useful in helping students understand how their robots is made and what hardware features it has.</p><p><strong>8) Settings Button:</strong> Student can access settings and links with this button.
