For schools using lots-o’-bots in the classroom, we developed some management features to make lives easier.

For a simpler, no hassle experience, we recommend using Sphero Edu without Student accounts. This means less to memorize for the students and less potential syncing and transfer issues for you. That being said, Sphero Edu offers some classroom management tools for more strictly managing your class in a school setting.&#xA0;<h4 id="isPasted">Using Sphero Edu without Student Accounts</h4>If you would prefer your students to not have accounts, you can have them open the Sphero Edu app and program without signing in. They will not be required to enter any personally identifiable data. If they do go to the sign in screen by accident, they can click Let&apos;s Code! to get back into the application without signing in.&#xA0;If you would like to direct your students to complete a specific lesson, and are not having them create accounts, you can share lessons with them using <a href="https://support.sphero.com/en-US/sphero-edu-activity-codes-244686" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lesson Codes</a>.If your students are not using accounts, their works will be locally saved to the device they&apos;re programming on, but will not be saved in the cloud. If you would like them to work on the same lesson over multiple class periods, you will need to ensure they are using the same device each time so they can access their previously completed work.You can prevent students from creating Sphero Edu accounts by enabling No User Data mode - learn <a href="https://support.sphero.com/en-US/%22no-user-data%22-mode-in-sphero-edu-262954" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">more here</a>.<h4 id="creating-student-accounts">Creating Student Accounts</h4><div class="warning-callout">We do not recommend having your students set up individual Learner accounts on their own, as they will not be associated or managed by your Teacher account. This means that they won&apos;t be able to easily get assignments, and you will not be able to fix any issues with their account (for example, if they forget their password). Also, learners cannot create their own accounts if they aren&apos;t old enough to comply with regional data laws. If your students are young, you need to create and be responsible for their accounts.</div><h4 id> </h4>There are four ways to create accounts for students:<ol><li>Class Codes</li><li>Standard Classes</li><li>Google Classroom Sync</li><li>Clever Sync</li></ol>To start, you must sign in with your Teacher account at <a href="https://spherocentral.com/" id="isPasted" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">spherocentral.com</a> (you cannot manage classes and create accounts from the Sphero Edu app clients), then select My&#xA0;Classes from the navigation bar.<img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/QBGoD2eOVjxdjqlX/hc/MdAV17q8JV2ZWgaX/2024070617-0056a17b-79f4-4222-ac68-f9aeb2bf5569-my_classes.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil fr-rounded fr-shadow">From there you can select Create New Class to start the process:<img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/QBGoD2eOVjxdjqlX/hc/MdAV17q8JV2ZWgaX/2024070617-59b8176e-3dfb-4996-b938-455bba941612-new_class.png" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil fr-rounded">As mentioned, you will have four options:&#xA0;<img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/QBGoD2eOVjxdjqlX/hc/MdAV17q8JV2ZWgaX/2024070617-4b3445c0-6845-4684-9f29-3ed0bc77645e-class.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded fr-shadow fr-fil"><h5 id="class-codes">Class Codes</h5>Class codes are a great option if you don&apos;t want your students to have traditional usernames and passwords. Class codes are 6 character codes that allow your students to access their assigned lessons, program their robots, and share their work with their teacher and classmates.Class codes can be created by any teacher and distributed to their students. Students don&#x2019;t need to have a username or password to save their work with class codes. They simply need to enter the class code to access their assignments and continue working on their programs. Unlike standard classes, student progress is saved to the class rather than a dedicated learner account.Learn more <a href="https://support.sphero.com/en-US/sphero-edu-class-codes-244321" id="link-55" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>.<h5 id="isPasted">Standard Classes and Standard Accounts</h5>With this method, each of your students will have a username and password to log into their Sphero Central account for use with Sphero Edu. This method is recommended for students who can remember login information, and is a good option if you want students to have a password for their account. &#xA0;Once a standard class is created, you can add students one of two ways:<ol><li>add learners individually one at a time from the Add Students button</li><li>&#xA0;bulk upload your learners to the class with a CSV template from the Add Students with CSV button</li></ol><h5 id="clever-sync">Clever Sync</h5>Your school must be registered with Clever to utilize this option. If you do have Clever and would like to use it, you can learn more about syncing Sphero Edu with Clever <a href="https://support.sphero.com/en-US/it-guide-for-using-clever-with-sphero-central-244595" id="link-56" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>.<h5 id="google-classroom-sync">Google Classroom Sync</h5>If your school utilizes Google Classrooms, you can sync your Google classes with Sphero Edu. In the document below, Sphero Central will be used when referencing the accounts and platform services used with the Sphero Edu applications.&#xA0;</div><h4 id="quick-start-or-accounts">&quot;Quick Start&quot; or Accounts?</h4>Firstly, it&apos;s worth noting that signing up for an account for use with Sphero Edu is optional. You can access the main features of the app without an account, including creating programs for your robot, and working on educational lessons. If you are unsure if you need an account, you can always start the app in &quot;Quick Start&quot; mode and decide later. At any point you can create an account if you want to take advantage of these benefits:<ol><li>Program Storage:&#xA0;Cloud storage and sync for your programs, which allows you to access your programs on any compatible device.</li><li>Lesson Storage:&#xA0;Cloud storage and sync for lesson progress. This means you can pick up and continue lesson progress wherever you left off, on any compatible device.</li><li>Lesson Publishing:&#xA0;For applicable accounts, you can create custom lessons and share them with students/children, or publish them to the community lesson section.</li><li>Classes/Families: For applicable accounts, you can set up classes/families and manage accounts for your students or children. You can also manage their assignments.</li></ol><div class="warning-callout">When you create an account, your data is stored on our servers as part of the Sphero Central platform. Student accounts are created and managed by Teachers, and are intended to allow students to work on programs and assigned lessons. Rather, teachers should create a Teacher account, then create accounts for their students with the class management tools. If you are a student viewing this page, please contact your teacher about setting up an account for you.</div><ol><li start="3" style="counter-increment:li 2;">Parent/Guardian: Intended for parents/guardians at home. Parent/Guardian accounts can can create and manage accounts for their children. They can also assign lessons and create custom lessons to share with their children and the community. Sign in options for Parent/Guardian accounts include: Google, Sign in With Apple, and standard accounts (email/username and password).</li><li>Learner: Intended for general users and children at home. Learner accounts can be created two ways. If you are over the age gate for your region (ex: 13 or older in the United States), then you can create your own account. If you are under the age gate for your region (ex: 12 or younger in the United States), then you cannot create your own account and will need a parent to create an account for you. Learner accounts cannot create or manage classes/families like Teacher and Parent/Guardian accounts. That includes any user accounts you might be responsible for, including the accounts of children and students that you manage. Please review the details below to better understand how to delete your own account or when it is appropriate to contact our support team for assistance.For applicable account types, you can choose to delete your account through the iOS/macOS and Android Sphero Edu apps, or through the Sphero Central website.&#xA0;Teacher, Parent/Guardian, and Learner Accounts: &#xA0; &#xA0;&#xA0;<ol><li>&#xA0; If you are a Sphero Edu user with a teacher, parent, or learner account,&#xA0;AND it was created with a email/username and password, then you will be able to delete your account with the following steps: &#xA0;<ul><li>Sign into the Sphero Edu app with your account or sign in on the Sphero Central website.</li><li>Go to the Profile page.</li><li>&#xA0; Select the Delete Account button. Furthermore, if you manage a class or have associated children accounts, then those classes, accounts, and all associated content will also be deleted. Account deletion is comprehensive and cannot be undone. We do not temporarily store deleted data - it is immediately processed for deletion. Follow these steps to delete learner accounts that you manage:<ul><li>Visit the&#xA0;<a data-key="381" href="https://spherocentral.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sphero Central website&#xA0;</a>and sign in with your parent/guardian or teacher account.</li><li>Once signed in, go to the My Class/My Family management&#xA0;page.
